WATCH is an exclusive organization formed in Yakima in 1989 and affiliated with the Home School Legal Defense Association.  Membership costs $35 per year; members receive a quarterly newsletter, a discount on Teaching Home Magazine, and a  discount on the WATCH conference held in early spring.  The conference features national and local Christian speakers, with programs for children and teens as well as parents, and includes a modest curriculum exhibit.  In 1999 and 2000, the conference was in Redmond.   The organization actively reviews pending state legislation relative to education and maintains a listing of support groups in Washington state.
